The Nigeria Para-Sitting Volleyball Federation says it will organise its national championship on December 3 in Kaduna.
The President of the federation, Rilwan Mohammed, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja.
According to Mohammed, the championship is to mark the “World Disability Day’’.
He said that the federation would have organised its yearly grassroots developmental programmes but for lack of funds.
He said efforts to get corporate bodies and individuals to sponsor some of the events had proved abortive.
He said: “The only event we can organise this year is the National Sitting-Volleyball Championship in December.
“Some of the corporate bodies you ask for help also have financial challenges. Many have yet to pay their workers’ salaries not to talk of sponsoring a competition.
“This issue is not just peculiar to our federation but to all sports federations in the country.”
